Importance Of Recruitment

Recruitment is the process of appointing the right person at the right place at the right time in right number. Recruiting the right candidate is very important be it for a junior position or top management position. Various reasons are-
?A good employee will be an asset for the organization whereas every dollar spent on an unproductive employee adds to the loss. Cost incurred on Human Resource is one of the biggest that a company incurs. Right from the advertisement for the job till the exit of the employee every penny that the company spends on him is calculated. So selection of the best candidate is crucial.
?Placing the candidate at the right position is also very important; a highly skilled person at a lower cadre with a less skilled boss will always remain dissatisfied and will never remain loyal to the company. He would always look for an opportunity to switch to some competitor. So placing the employee at the right cadre according to knowledge, experience, academic background etc is essential.
?It is important to analyze the demand and supply and future need of manpower in an organization. If the company is planning an expansion then it is the responsibility of the HR department to analyze such demand and make sure there is availability of suitable candidates. The sources for recruiting should also be analyzed.
