Use of Bio Fuel Has Resulted In Increasing Poverty
Sunday, August 10th, 2008Bio fuel is seen as an option of saving climate and meeting our energy needs. Instead of doing any good it has resulted in increasing poverty. According to a study conducted by the World Bank prices of food items have increased 83 times in developing countries in the last three years affecting billions of poor. In such countries people living below poverty line could hardly afford a day’s meal and the situation has got worse with the price hike. The bio fuel program will take another 150 years to show the result, according to a science journal. It will be far better if the developed countries reduce their carbon emission rate instead of putting the developing nations on the verge of food crisis.
